Add an API key
Connect an AI provider so your bots have a model to think with.
Video coming soon. The steps below work today.
Steps
- Open Settings → Models.
- Choose a provider, such as Anthropic, OpenAI, or Gemini.
- Select Get API key to open the provider's key page, create a key there, and copy it.
- Paste the key into BotLegger and save it.
Good to know
- Gemini and OpenRouter can also connect by signing in instead of pasting a key.
- The Ollama app on your own computer needs no key at all.
- Keys stay in your system's credential store, and the provider bills you directly.
